Evaluation:
I struggled with this first shoot of the new topic because I wanted to attempt so many different areas of Evidence and I didn't really know where to start however I chose to begin with 'Evidence of people' and decided to focus on the evidence of the things we do to ourselves for my first topic. I went out with the intention of focusing on smoking, and the evidence it leaves on not only the person doing it but the environment around it therefore I chose to photograph used butt's, cigarettes that are lit and tried to capture the smoke coming off the cigarettes. I had a few camera issues and was struggling to get a good focus in the lighting I had, therefore I need to try this again. The other photographs I took in this shoot were of a coca-cola can with lipstick on and a tiny spillage, I focused on this because a spillage is evidence of someone being there, the lipstick is evidence of someone being there, and these examples of evidence fit in with my theme that everything that everyone does no matter how big or small leaves some sort of insignificant mark on the world.

Progression
I do think this was a successful session however I do wish I had taken more photographs, I lacked a starting point in this session which is why I was limited within myself however now I recognize one of the directions I would like to take despite the fact I do want to explore a few other areas within Evidence. I know that I definitely want to continue on with the topic of smoking, cigarettes and damage and tie this into the theme of aging. I like the way the photographs look when there is actual evidence left for example the lipstick on the diet coke can, I would like to continue this. My next shoot is going to focus on the idea of evidence of weathering to explore a new angle of evidence, I plan to go out into Harlow Town and photograph natural weathering such as rust, old brick, litter, cigarettes and damp patches from rain.
